Using for an autobody project. Nice quality tool but you better have 7hp+ to get the full advantage of this tool.My 87 yr old dad uses this for making his wooden canes/ walking sticks that he gives away to family, friends & even strangers that he meets.I was very glad to find one that resembled the one he used for 50 yrs. It recently quit operating so this is his replacement. He ❤️‘S it!I bought this to sand my jeep so that I could raptor line it. It is very quiet and consistent but you cant put much pressure to it or the wheel stops. I have a 60 gal compressor and even that was having a hard time keeping up. My recommendation is only get this if you have 80 gal+ compressor with 3/8" fittings for greater airflow. Its also a bit heavy after some time.Nice, high quality grinder. Great for doing body work.Just replacing my old sander that was stolen, this is a great sanderGood quality but difficult to modulate the speed.Works as it shouldThe I-R 311A DA Sander arrived overnight, which was great. The stud on the pad was setting on an angle, which was not great; the pad would not seat, and it wobbled. (This stud issue had been described in reviews.) Contact with I-R customer support generated an immediate response, and I-R shipped a new pad. I bought a Neiko pad through Amazon to avoid the delay; the I-R part arrived in a week. I am pleased with the tool. In its price range, I-R delivered. Customer support was excellent. I'm going for five stars on this one. This is a great tool to run a cupped wire brush. As a sander it is crap. Get a machinist to drill out and tap a 5/8nc bolt with a 7/16nf hole to make a reduced bushing adapter. Once you use this to clean gasket surfaces, prep parts etc. It will change your life. With the speed control you will not throw wire everywhere like with the high speed of an angle grinder. Also works well with sanding flap discs 4.5” or 5” grinder.Absolutely nothing but Junk. Spend your money on quality. Can’t get enough power from orbital. Now can’t take off pad because locking mechanism slips off. Don’t buy Really is junkIt's not absolute top of the line, but with the right consumables this thing is perfectly fine. I've used it to buff off decals and get to bare metal. It's quiet, it runs nice, and it feels solid and sturdy. There's not much more to say. Happy with it so far.I have been using IR products for over 40 years and have always found them reliable and tough. I look forward to using this Vertical grinder, ( I am replacing the one I've had since 1979 ) very smooth action and came as expectedIt worked great for doing fiberglass repair on my boat. One thing to note is that you will need a big air compressor to use this properly. My small 6 gallon tank and home compressor could not keep up with the amount of air this tool needs. I'd use it for a few seconds and then have to stop and wait for the compressor to catch up. Otherwise it worked like a charm, just took longer due to not having a large compressor.
